THE ARCHIVE

Many of you know by now my passion for horror, especially internet-based mysteries and strange occurances. This is a collection of my favorite spooky media from around the web that include but are not limited to; stories, photos, videos, art projects, and other miscellaneous, obscure finds.
The last masterpost of my favorite creepy finds was uploaded in December of 2014 and a lot has changed! That journal has nearly 20k views! Thank you all for engaging with me and being interested in these side quests of mine, it really, truly makes me happy to know others are interested in the things I have a great passion for ♥
This is definitely not a complete list - it is an ongoing archive that will be picked at and added to as time goes on.

Hope you enjoy! If you have any feedback or have something you think I'd enjoy, leave a comment for me! If I dont reply, Ive seen what you have recommended already :)
Disclaimer - classic creepypastas (smile.dog, Slenderman, Jeff the Killer) will not be featured, neither will 90% ARGs on youtube. The things I have taken the time to compile have had a lot of obvious time and effort put into them and they are here on display to be appreciated as such. However, a 'classics' section may be added in the future just for honor's sake.

Many of my favorite works here are astoundingly underrated. I hope to shed light on and bring praise to these masterpieces ♡

CREEPYPASTA

Everyone's favorite go-to for creepy web horror. With countless works of fiction out there to sift through and years of free time, I've noted here the pieces that have mesmerized and shaken me to my core.
I have left links below some blurbs to my favorite narrations! Many great youtubers take time to read and act out these stories, and it is much more enjoyable in my opinion to listen to the campfire story than read it in silence ♡

Posted by an anonymous user on 4chan's /x/ board, this is by far my favorite story in existence. The unanswered questions, the intrigue, the strange occurances plaguing a tourist of Valparaiso, Chile will have you craving more, but those explanations may never come - and that is what keeps me coming back to revisit this wonderful work. It has just enough detail to leave you on the edge of your seat, but not enough to fully satisfy - in the most satisfying way. To see it so unnoticed in the community is a horror beyond any work of fiction. The post on /x/ is nowhere to be found, this has become a personal active search.

You may start to notice a pattern here. Surreal horror. Dogscape is the epitome of surrealist, unimaginable fear. It manifested via many mindbending comments on the SomethingAwful forums until it was eventually strewn together anonymously and coherently. The storytelling that comes from Dogscape is deep, descriptive, and creates a world so visual - so visceral - that it is a character in itself. Daunting, living, breathing, and all-consuming, this one may stick with you for a while, and that is why I love it. Ever imagined a landscape of dog?
Partial Narration by Litterbot
Note: The narrator above is unlikely to finish reading the series. He has the most atmosphere in his videos and is, in my opinion, the best - but you're free to listen to this story elsewhere, of course.

A severely underrated classic dating back to 2004, this interactive gem appeared on the web detailing the recovered emails and messages sent between two friends. After news of an old collegue murdering a couple and committing suicide, Mark sets out on an expansive journey to find out what sucked the life out of his buddy. This will lead him to cryptic, enigmatic places with supernatural powers not meant to be understood, and it is told masterfully.
Updates
Note: Strange. The narration that I have been listening to for years has mysteriously vanished. It was wonderfully read and produced, and featured some great voices. What a shame.

Suicide is a heavy topic to base a story on. Being thrown into a world you werent meant to understand is a horrible, disorientating thought. This story definitely tackles themes anyone going through trouble should consider reading, it may just give you the boost to keep going. A place filled with unending torment and bizarre scapes, no one knew this place was an option after death - and there's only one way to escape. But are you worthy?
Narration by MapleCreepyPasta

An astounding tale filled with rich, colorful detail and relatable storytelling, The Showers puts us in a place we all have been in - of a child with that one cool teacher on Halloween. The true story Mr. Mays tells us from his days in college is one of typical thrills and chills until it becomes a little more real, when our grown up friend decides to go prove the legend's existence in honor of his teacher. The curiosity that any scary story puts in us is one like no other. What would you do in that situation? Could you imagine seeing some of the things in your favorite scary stories? You might just question your friend's spooky sightings retold in the lunchroom and be a bit eager to see for yourself. What horrors lie in the barren, lonely, remote regions of America's dusty plains? The showers.

My Brother died when I was a child. He kept talking. I think people should know what he said
Something about incomprehensible sights and horrors so immense and lovecraftian to be understood really tickles me. Things we just aren't ready to handle. Places we were never meant to see. Feelings, sights, and sounds beyond that of reality. This nosleep gem will leave you absolutely mesmerized by its imagery and descriptions of a world more desolate than hell itself. The extremely subtle message hidden in this work will make you see it in a different light if you are abel to notice it. Works like these deserve to be illustrated and expanded on beyond its literary bondage. Don't ever die.
Narration by CreepsMcPasta

This mindbending collection of accounts retold by a search and rescue officer for an unspecified national forest will leave you itching to stay inside. Sticking to themes of the nonsensical, the happenings in this forest are definitely more sinister than strange. People getting lost on the trails being found miles away in the side of a mountain, dead, and the strange reoccuring objects appearing in the woods. Do not look at them, do not talk about them.
And most importantly, do not touch them.
Narration by CorpseHusband

Nosleep slams us again with a quirky and masterfully written story about every day routine. It does not deal with supernatural horror or interdimensional furniture, but the lingering destruction that waits around every turn of the day. Make sure you remember to grab your phone before heading to work today, it might just have a devastating domino effect.

Penpal
You've probably heard this one floating around if you're into anything pasta-related. This absolute epic details the life of our young protagonist and his foggy memories playing with his friend and eventually piecing together the demented, sickening truth behind seemingly random events that haunted his childhood. It is deeply intriguing how we begin to notice signs of danger as we age, but these things perceived by the innocent mind of a child can come off as something very different. This work of art will definitely be yanking your heartstrings in many different ways. It has been adapted into a novel and may even become its own film.

Another star from NoSleep, this gut-wrenching story of a little girl living in a drug-fogged home with her poor mother will have the emotions running high. It won't be until later that these seemingly innocent buried memories rise to take one last swing at your guts with its rotted, decayed hands.

JUNJI ITO

A master in horror fiction, this manga artist creates jaw-dropping illustrations and equally dark and twisted stories. I enjoy most, if not all of them and they are definitely worth a read, but these are undoubtedly his most famous and most chilling pieces. Uzumaki is a multi-layered horror anthem and Amigara is a nauseating journey of punishment and one's submission into the unknown.

YOUTUBE AND VISUAL MEDIA

Youtube has been a goldmine for creepy content since it's birth. Lush with cryptic messages, ARGs, analysis channels dedicated to preserving the strange and investigating the unknown, the possibilities are endless. I've listed my favorites below with some notable blurbs in honor of my absolute best picks ♥ Many things I have listed here have been broken down and talked about by some of these various youtubers, feel free to watch and please do support their work!

Night Mind
Nick Nocturne is an astounding youtuber who puts an admirable amount of effort into his videos. His videos are truly something to appreciate and melt into, with a voice so soothing and passion so strong, I guarantee you will be hooked on his content.
Scare Theater
Similar to NM, this smaller youtuber has a more raw feel and investigates the truly bizarre. He is a master at debunking and digging for information and usually finds the truth, you will be stunned at the things he discovers and breaks down. And add to that, he's goddamn adorable.

DEVIANTART

Seemingly devoid of creepy occurances, communities here have their own legends, drama and whispers of the past. It takes some trudging and a good memory to discover some very interesting happenings here, to which I have only one.

Murdersona Mystery c. 2014

The journal detailing the search for these images once thought to be lost to the gaping maw of the web can be found here. This was an amazing group effort and I was astounded so many remembered this incident and wanted to know more! Thank you all for your amazing help, couldn't have done it alone!
Sometime around 2014, someone began uploading ominous artwork of questionable quality. And people noticed.

Their account is still unknown, however it is estimated to either be MurdererMutt or mummy-donkey. Two long-dead accounts with upload times eerily close to that of the original post. This person drew their strange character killing their watcher's OCs. Nothing too crazy, but at the time when this blew up, it was everywhere. Yet now, it's seemingly impossible to find any information regarding what happened. The art was possibly reported and taken down, but it doesn't explain why the last one would be removed. Seems visually innocent, albeit creepy. These pieces aren't on dA anymore, but they used to be.
When memories flooded back regarding this event, I drew the closest thing I could to the image I remember most, and surpringly, I wasn't that far off when these finally crawled out of the shadows. Knowing this went into the void bothered me immensly, and I hope to preserve these findings as it was definitely something that fascinated me. It was a pretty big deal for a community of artists where nothing really crazy happens. Ever.

I've personally noted many people associated with the account and one has actually replied as of Thursday, April 27th. Updates on this will come when they arrive, don't worry.
